Sietas KG , The J.J. Sietas shipyard is situated on the
south-western outskirts of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg,
at the mouth of the River Este, where this flows into the Elbe, ever
Hamburg's main traffic artery.
Flensburger
Schiffbau-Gesellschaft, Having previously had all their
steamships built in England, as did most German shipowners in the
19th century, five Flensburger shipowners made the bold move of starting
their own shipbuilding company. The company was founded in 1872, and
they named it the FLENSBURGER SCHIFFBAU-GESELLSCHAFT.
