SAECS adds vessel to the Core String

 

The four shipping lines (MOL, Safmarine, DAL and Maersk Line) in the SAECS vessel sharing agreement between Europe and Southern Africa have agreed to add a 7th vessel to the "SAECS Core Service".

The addition of a 7th vessel comes in response to continued operational challenges in the ports, which are causing delays to schedules and consequently leading to a service reliability below the level expected by our customers and the level the SAECS VSA aims to deliver.

The added vessel, Lica Maersk, has the same specifications as the remaining specialised reefer tonnage on the service and it will join the "SAECS Core Service" on 11 November, 2007.

There will be no material schedule changes due to this addition, the investment is purely in ensuring schedule reliability for our customers and illustrates the strong commitment from the involved shipping lines to provide a service that is second to none in the Southern Africa - Europe market.
