German companies benefit from maritime expertise
of HMC, organising participation in boat shows abroad
2 October 2007 HMC (Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH)
has expanded its foreign activities to include international boat shows,
using its maritime expertise to support German companies.
A good example is the Fort Lauderdale International
Boat Show, where HMC organises the present¬ations of German companies
under contract with the Federal Ministry of Economics.
HMC has taken on responsibility at Fort Lauderdale for
a national pavilion including 17 German exhibitors, mainly from the
boat interior and accessories sector.
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, to be held
from 25 to 29 October 2007, has been a part of the HMC programme since
2002. A new addition to the programme is organisation of a German presentation
at the Moscow International Boat Show, to be held from 10 to 13 April
2008.
HMC is likewise on board for the German presentations
at the Vienna Boat Show (organised by Reed Exhibition Messe Vienna).
A cooperation agreement has been established between the two trade fair
companies.
Based on its many years of experience with boat shows,
HMC has taken on a consulting role and the foreign representation of
German companies at the Vienna Boat Show, to be held for the first time
from 22 to 25 November 2007.
HMC has for many years been organising national pavilions,
taking over the complete package of organisation for the German companies
involved.
“Our success is based on our one-stop-shop approach,
and the many years of experience that we have with trade fairs abroad,
plus a highly professional team,” explains Bernd Aufderheide, Chairman
of the Management Board of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH.
“The maritime focus of our work fits in perfectly with
the key economic sectors in Hamburg. Those include our other core subjects
aviation, renewable energies, the media, the hospitality sector and
life sciences”.
Last year alone, HMC organised more than 25 national
pavilions and joint presentations at international industry and trade
fairs. More than 600 companies from the whole of Germany made use of
these services last year.
For mid-sized companies in particular, HMC provides
a proven and successful service, giving advice ahead of the event, a
complete logistics package including stand assembly, and support at
the fair location.
HMC has extensive experience with boat shows. Such as
the hanseboot Hamburg International Boat Show from 27 October to 4 November
this year will be the 48th time HMC has run the event. hanseboot is
the oldest of all German boat shows. It celebrated its premiere in Hamburg
in 1961, under the title of “German Boat Show”.
The hanseboot 2007 will feature 900 exhibitors from
30 nations, with more than 1,200 boats and yachts on 78,000 square metres
in 11 exhibition halls and the hanseboot harbour.
