MES Starts "e-GICS®W" Service, an Expanded Engine Maintenance and Diagnosis System by Internet to Cover Entire Engine Room including Generator Engine
Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (MES with president Mr. Yasuhiko Katoh) has recently developed e-GICS®W (electronic Global Internet Customer Support W) to make maintenance support in one portal site for main and generator diesel engine of ship together with Daihatsu Diesel Mfg. Co., Ltd. (Daihatsu with president Mr. Tokunori Ishibashi with its head office in Kita-ku, Osaka City).
This new e-GICS®W has an additional function to deal with generator engine on the e-GICS® that has been available by internet since November 2004 to deal with Mitsui-MAN B&W main engine.
This new e-GICS®W will also be available by internet to registered members in October 2007. The members of e-GICS®W can get various services for 24 hours 365 days at nominal cost whether they are at sea or on land including performance diagnosis of main and generator diesel engine,assessment of remaining life time of their parts, browsing and searching of necessary technical and commercial information through function of electronic Document and Q&A.
The existing e-GICS® is now used by 955 ships of 117 companies as of July 2007. MES will enhance its maintenance service covering entire engine room including main and generator diesel engines by offering this e-GICS®W.
The member only for Mitsui-MAN B&W main engine can have service continuously just accessing to the URL of e-GICS® same as before.
